It’s one of the biggest mysteries of the modern surfing scene.
In recent years, people have been sharing surf lessons online and sharing tips with friends and family members.
But what exactly is the purpose of these lessons?
And what can you do to share them with your friends?
That’s the main question surf matLab, a surf training and education company based in Los Angeles, CA, is trying to answer with a new website called “Surf MatLab” and a series of videos, “Surfing Lessons: How to Share and Learn.”
And surf matLAB is hoping to have surf lessons on the platform in the coming months.
In a statement to The Verge, Matlab founder and CEO Paul Sperry said that the site was a way to let people “share and learn” about the surf industry.
“This is an amazing way to connect with surfers and share the lessons you love, with the lessons that really matter to you, and to inspire the next generation of surfers,” Sperrry wrote.
“Surface surfers love learning about the amazing art of surfing.
It’s something that’s been in the surf culture for centuries, and surfers want to share it with others.”
Sperria said that surf lessons “have become a cornerstone of the surfing community.”
He said that while surfing lessons are “a form of communication” surf matlabs aims to offer “a safe space where surfers can share their experiences, share their knowledge, and share how they got started in surfing.”
In the first two videos on the website surf matLabs shared some basic surfing techniques, some of which are popular among surfers, and offered a few lessons in basic wave-skimming techniques.
Sperries also shared a few surf lesson videos that are actually really cool, and you can watch them below.
“Our goal with surf mat LAB is to inspire surfers to keep learning,” Splerry told The Verge.
“It’s about letting them know that they can learn more and be better.”
Matlab has been around since 2014 and it recently partnered with the nonprofit organization Surfing With Hope to launch the site.
The site has also been featured on the Surfing Academy app, which allows surfers in the U.S. and abroad to learn from professionals from around the world.
Surf matLAB also plans to launch a surf shop in 2019 in New York City, but it is unclear whether this will be an online shop or a physical store.
Splerer said that a physical shop is “something we’re really passionate about,” but that it would depend on the success of the company.
“There’s so many cool things we want to do with surf, and we need to focus on it,” he said.
